Rotary drum granulator pairing guide: Choosing the right turner doubles granulation efficiency

The granulation effect of a rotary drum granulator depends primarily on the maturity, uniformity, and moisture content of the raw materials. Therefore, pairing it with a suitable turner is crucial.

A double screws compost turning machine is the preferred choice, especially suitable for processing high-moisture, sticky materials. It offers high mixing uniformity, fully integrating raw materials and additives, precisely adjusting moisture and carbon-nitrogen ratios, breaking up clumps, and preventing problems such as sticking and loose granules during granulation, significantly improving granulation efficiency.

A chain compost turning machine is suitable for large-scale, deep-trough fermentation scenarios. Its sufficient turning depth enables deep maturation of raw materials, and it has low energy consumption and can operate continuously. Combined with a rotary drum granulator, it can form a “maturation-granulation” production line, suitable for large-scale organic fertilizer production.

Note that simple trough-type and small wheel-type turners are not suitable for pairing with rotary drum granulators. Their insufficient turning uniformity and poor maturation effect can lead to more impurities and uneven moisture content in the raw materials, affecting the granulated quality and even clogging the equipment.

In summary, the key to choosing the right rotary drum granulator is the raw material and scale: choose a double screws compost turner for high-moisture, sticky, and heavy materials, and choose a chain compost turner for large-scale deep-trough fermentation. Choosing the right combination can improve efficiency and ensure the quality of organic fertilizer granules.
